We are in search of a Speech Therapist for Outpatient Pediatrics and Acute Care to join their team.Job DescriptionResponsible for evaluation and treatment of patients referred for Speech/Language Pathology services by a referring physician. - Develops plans of care for patients after evaluation. Discusses plan with patient and or parent/guardian. - -Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine "normal" life within the constraints of their disability. -Participates in performance improvement activities within the department. - Assures personal competency and maintains licensure. - Provides information related to departmental budget considerations in relationship to Speech Pathology needs for optimum patient care and service. - Works closely with the front desk for scheduling of patient visits and helping ensure insurance authorization when needed. -Maintains timely documentation and charges per department guidelines. -Participates in infection control, safety, computer optimization, and educational programs, both in the department and on an organizational basis.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: -Knowledge of principals and practice of speech pathology. Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique and related impact on rehabilitative medicine practice and equipment. 1-5 years experience working as a speech/language pathologist with some experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred. -EDUCATION: Holds a masters degree from an approved college or school of speech/language pathology.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: -Eligible for certificate of clinical competence. - Current State Licensure in speech pathology (as Speech Pathologist) required.
